Raw marks out of 100 are converted into the official GATE Score out of 1,000 using a normalized scaling model that references the qualifying marks for the discipline and the average performance of the top 0.1% of candidates:
- GATE Score 850 – 1000: High probability of receiving direct job offers from premier Maharatna PSUs (ONGC, IOCL, NTPC) and admission into top specialization M.Tech programs at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, or IISc Bangalore.
- GATE Score 700 – 849: Competitive for mid-tier PSUs (PowerGrid, HPCL, BHEL) and core engineering branches across top 7 IITs.
